Car Hire with cross border
If you are going to travel to another country then you will need to add a special cover. This can be added during the reservation process and allows you to be able to travel to France, Spain, Andorra, Portugal, Italy, Monaco, Switzerland, Austria and San Marino. At some destinations where you can hire a car with Centauro Rent a Car you may feel like visiting other countries which are close by. This is not a problem! Just hire a car with cross border cover and you can enjoy driving through so many unforgetable and charming places.

- What countries can I travel to by contracting the Cross Border cover?
If your booking is for collection at any of our offices in Spain (mainland), this will allow you to travel to Spain, France, Andorra or Portugal.
If your booking is for collection at any of our offices in Portugal (mainland), this will allow you to travel to Spain or Portugal.
For car hire collections in Italy, our cross border cover will allow you to travel to France, Monaco, Switzerland, Austria or San Marino only. Vehicles cannot be taken from mainland Italy to any island.
For Greece, it is not permitted to drive outside the country.
Note: Vehicles collected at any of our locations cannot be taken on any ferry to/between/from any islands, territories or countries.
- What happens if I leave the country where I picked up the vehicle and do not hire the Cross Border cover?
In case of traveling outside the vehicle pickup country without previously contracting the Cross Border Cover, or if leaving the country is not permitted, a charge of 500 euros will be applied in Spain, Portugal, and Greece.
