We start in Blanes
The coastal town of Blanes, just over an hour’s drive from Barcelona Airport and the Miramurtra Botanical Gardens is where we begin our route along the Costa Brava. The peculiarity of this wonderful place is that it is located in the middle of a mountain and with breathtaking sea views has made it worthy of being the best Mediterranean Botanical Garden in Europe.
We continue our journey down the coast to Calella, making a strategic stop in Tossa del Mar where we can take advantage of our time to get to know the old town and remains that surrounds the fort that dates back to the twelfth century.
Bays & Medieval architecture on our stops along the way.
In Calella de Palafrugell, we can take in the delights in visiting the different coves that are dotted along this traditional fishing village which is located on a rocky mountain. Cala Marquesa is one of the most beautiful; surrounded by tiny islands only accessible by water and the impressive cliffs of Aigua Xelida.
The medieval streets and architecture of the town of Begur will be our next stop on this special journey along the Costa Brava, and where we can take the opportunity to taste some of the local dishes so popular in the area. Need a recommendation? The cosy atmosphere of the La Escalopa restaurant.
Back behind the wheel, we head to Aiguablava, one of the most beautiful places on the Costa Brava, with its amazing surroundings and idyllic coves you will need to pinch yourself to know that you are not dreaming! Near to this magical place you will find the Cueva d’en Gispert, get on a boat and take in all the wonders on offer to you.
Continuing our journey by car along the Costa Brace, we reach the charming port of L’Estartit and the natural Paradise this is directly opposite, the ‘Parque de Islas Medias’, a perfect place to explore the seabed, one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean Sea.
Navigable Waterways and a town of artists to end our journey
The famous town of Ampuria Brava –with the famous Parque Natural de Aiguamolls de L’Empordà that surrounds it, also makes up one of the most important residential marinas in Europe with 24 kilometres of navigable channels, is truly one of the highlights of this stop.
Our final destination is none other than Cadaqués. A region situated in the Cabo de Creus and whose special charm already seduced popular artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Garcia Márquez or Dalí whose house museum you can visit in Port Lligat.
