In addition to ‘sun and sand’, adventure tourism has established Madeira as one the most trendy destinations this summer.
With this new addition we now have four offices in Portugal, where we have three branches in the country’s main tourist destinations: Faro, Lisbon, and Porto. This operation consolidates our company in the Portuguese market. From 2016, we’ve established ourselves as a well-known brand for all foreigners who travel to Portugal and who have known Centauro Rent a Car’s services through the Spanish market.
“In addition to attracting foreign tourists, the launch of the new office at Madeira allows us to gain the trust of the Portuguese customers”. A strategic market for Centauro Rent a Car, since 87% of Portugal’s tourism is local. On the other hand, the Island represents the first ‘door’ to the Atlantic. “A very mature tourist destination that will be a magnificent showcase for our business”, says Erik Devesa, Centauro Rent a Car’s Chief Executive Officer.
Madeira, Centauro Rent a Car’s fifth international destination launched in 2018.
The new Madeira office is the fifth European opening of the Spanish brand in 2018, following its ambitious international expansion plan. Last February Centauro Rent a Car opened four offices at the main Italian airports (Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino, Milan Bergamo and Milan Malpensa). The Spanish firm will keep growing in the next months and is looking to close new operations -both national and international- during the summer season.

To celebrate our arrival in Madeira, Centauro Rent a Car is offering an exclusive discount for all our Portugal destinations. All travelers who wish to enjoy Madeira, Lisbon, Porto, and Faro before the end of June may benefit from a 15% discount if they book before June 19th.
Madeira: 1.4 million tourists and 7.5 million overnight stays.
Madeira has become one of the destinations that have contributed the most to relaunching tourism in Portugal, reaching 7.5 million overnight stays and 1.4 million tourists in the past year, according to the most recent official data.
In addition to ‘sun and sand’, this volcanic island has become one of the favorite destinations for adventure (trekking, hang gliding, paragliding, climbing, canyoning…) and water sports (kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, water skiing…) fans. Another of Madeira’s strengths is unique gastronomy, with mouth-watering shellfish and fresh fish dishes, such as sword fish with banana or tuna and onion stew.
