Located in the south of the Region of Valencia, the city of Alicante is in
the centre of the bay of the same name, bordered by the capes known as Cabo Las
Huertas to the north and Santa Pola to the south. With around 315,000 inhabitants
and a municipal area of 201.3 Km2, it is the second largest city in the Region of
Valencia and is the capital of the province that bears its name; a city
focused on industry, business and service sectors.
As a city washed by the Mediterranean, Alicante has an exceptional climate that
is characterized by mild winters and hot summers, with an average annual temperature
of over 18 ºC and around 3,000 hours of sunshine per year.
Alicante is undoubtedly a prime example of a Mediterranean city, with a vitality
that marks the personality of its inhabitants who are always friendly to visitors
so that they never feel like strangers there.
